SK8 recently held various events under the title of ∞ WEEK from August 8 to August 14. On the last day of this memorable week, an “SK8 The Infinity ∞ WEEK Special Event” was announced, which will be held at the Palette Shimin Gekijo located in the Okinawa Prefecture.
The production of a new OVA and the anime’s second season was also announced at the event! Alongside this, a brand-new key art with Reki and Langa was revealed for the Special Week event. No release window for either the OVA or the 2nd season was given.
▍About SK8 The Infinity
SK8 The Infinity centers on Reki, a second-year high school student who loves skateboarding, and gets caught up in “S,” an underground and dangerous skateboard race with no rules at an abandoned mine.
Langa, who has returned to Japan from Canada and has never skateboarded before, also gets wrapped up in S. Dirty racers, AI racers, and other unique individuals compete in this youth skateboard race battle!
The anime premiered on ABC TV and TV Asahi’s “ANiMAZiNG!!!” programming block on January 9, 2021. Funimation streamed the anime when it aired in Japan, and began streaming an English dub that February, before both the subbed and dubbed episodes moved to Crunchyroll after the buyout.
