Yokai Watch World is Shutting down on December 23

Gung Ho is shutting down the Yokai Watch version of Pokemon GO, Yokai Watch World later this year on December 23, 12:00 [JST]. The game launched on June 27, 2018, and the game will have been live for 4 and a half years when it shuts down.

Any paid Yokai balls unused by the end of the service will be refunded to players, so long as you still have your player ID and secret code. Details on how to be refunded will be revealed at a later time.

Announced on the game’s official Twitter account and on the official website. the game is going to end its service on December 23, 12:00 [JST]. The game has hence stopped the sale of all premium currency including YD chips and Yokai Balls. Once the game has been shut down, the service will update its Yokai Zukan app which essentially lets you browse the map of Japan with Yokai records.

About Yokai Watch World

Yokai Watch World is essentially a Yokai Watch version of Pokemon GO, using Google Maps and featuring real-time battles with augmented reality, as you find and battle monsters out in the real world.

Yokai Watch World was only available in Japan however despite the “World” in its name unlike Pokemon GO, limiting its use outside of the Japanese islands.

Yokai Watch World has a rating of 3.7 on the QooApp Game Store.
