Nintendo unveiled more gameplay for Bayonetta 3 at Nintendo Direct, giving us an intimate look at everything the Umbral Witch has in her third title.
The trailer showcases new traversal abilities available to Bayonetta, a glimpse of the new setting seemingly taking place in Tokyo, enemies, and a new Infernal Demons system that allows you to take control of her signature Demons mid-combat, her new Demon Masquerade transformation, Torture attacks, and even a look at how the new character Viola plays!
Bayonetta 3 launches for the Nintendo Switch on October 28.

Bayonetta returns in this third title, now valuing human life and the world she inhabits, Bayonetta now fights for the world against a new threat, the Homunculi.
The Homunculi are a mysterious new threat that seeks to wipe out both Inferno and Paradiso, by destroying the Human realm, cutting off the connection between both worlds.
Shoot, cut, blast, and fight your way through hordes of homunculi with Bayonetta’s new host of abilities to systematically dismantle your opponents, in style.
▍Bayonetta 3 Gameplay
Bayonetta 3 introduces loads of new gameplay mechanics, building upon the series’ combat, player expression, and even exploration with Bayonetta’s new move set and demon abilities.
On top of the classic action combat from previous entries, Bayonetta can now freely call upon demons during battle with the Infernal Demons system. This lets you control one of her many monsters during combat, but during this time Bayonetta, herself can’t move and can be vulnerable to attacks, and depletes her Infernal Demon Gauge.
Bayonetta also has access to Demon Masquerade, a new powerup that can be activated by pressing down on both analog sticks. This gives her attacks new properties and allows her to unleash her umbral witch powers non-stop for a brief duration, racking up tons of damage!
Bayonetta’s Demon Masquerade also takes on different forms depending on the weapon you have equipped, giving you new attacks during combat and can even be used to help traverse the environment, offering new ways to explore levels to find secrets!
You can also change the difficulty of Bayonetta between levels if the going gets too tough. For less experienced players you can equip the Immortal Marionette, which allows you to perform complex combos with simpler button combinations to let you experience all of the flashiness of Bayonetta, without the gameplay!
▍Bayonetta 3 New Character – Viola
Central to Bayonetta 3 is the new witch-in-training, Viola! This young witch rocking a punk aesthetic plays completely different from Bayonetta, opting more for blocking and parrying rather than dodging, as she can activate Witch time by parrying enemy attacks, and can summon her only Demon, the Cheshire to attack foes by sending it to enemies, and even riding it during combat!
▍Bayonetta 3 Trinity Masquerade Edition
Bayonetta 3 is also releasing with a Masquerade Edition that comes with a 200-page art book, and game sleeves for all three Bayonetta titles, as the original Bayonetta game is also being released for Nintendo Switch as a physical copy, where it was previously only available as a bonus to buying Bayonetta 2.
