Nijiyon ~Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Yonkoma, a four-panel spinoff manga of Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club is getting a short anime adaptation titled Nijiyon Animation that will air in Japan in January 2023!
Written by Sakurako Kimino and Illustrated by Kadokawa, the spinoff manga features stories depicting the everyday lives of the girls from the series! The official YouTube channel also started streaming animated shorts featuring the girls in kawaii chibi forms! The voice cast from the original anime will also reprise their roles in the short anime.
Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club is a multimedia spin-off project from the Love Live! series and its game series Love Live! School Idol Festival. It was first introduced in 2017 as “Perfect Dream Project” and was initially created as part of the game Love Live! School Idol Festival All Stars. The series had its first television adaptation by Bandai Namco Filmworks airing from October to December 2020. A second season aired from April to June 2022.
The story centers on the members of the school idol club in Nijigasaki High School, who work together as solo idols, and their attempt to prevent the club from being abolished. As the story progresses, more girls begin participating in the club’s activities.
