Karakara Kemuri’s (唐々煙) supernatural manga Laughing Under the Clouds, in other name Donten ni Warau (曇天に笑う), will get three spin-off animation movies based off Laughing Under the Clouds Gaiden. The first movie, Laughing Under the Clouds Gaiden: Ketsubetsu, Yamainu no Chikai (曇天に笑う〈外伝〉 ～決別、犲の誓い～), has confirmed the premiere date to be 2nd December this year.
The original cast, such as Tenka Kumo’s VA Yuichi Nakamura, Soramaru Kumo’s VA Yuki Kaji and Chutaro Kumo’s VA Tsubasa Yonaga, will reprise their roles in the movie. It is currently in production at Attack on Titan’s animation studio WIT STUDIO.

The main manga started in 2011 in Monthly Comic Avarus. The plot follows three brothers from the Kumo family taking up the job to transport criminals to prison during the Meiji Restoration. Laughing Under the Clouds Gaiden has finished it serialisation in Monthly Comic Garden, but Another Laughing in Limbo is still in progress in Web Comic Beat’s. The first anime adaption was made in 2014.
