Bandai unveiled details of a new ambitious game project, titled Union Arena which aims to be a “dream all-star card game” featuring multiple anime series.

Currently announced anime involved with the game includes Code Geass, Jujutsu Kaisen, Hunter x Hunter, Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia, Bleach, TenSura, The IDOLM@STER Shiny Colors, and even games like Tales of Arise. These cards will be released on a monthly basis starting with Jujutsu Kaisen, Code Geass, and Hunter x Hunter being released as starter decks and booster packs, and the rest coming later.

Currently, Union Arena is only slated for a Japanese release, though hopefully if it performs well enough we may see an English version of these cards in the future. These cards are also going to be featured at the Jump Festa ’23 event on December 17-18 to showcase the card game in-person with live demos.

About Union Arena

Union Arena is an upcoming TCG featuring a wide array of anime properties, crossing over in the battle of a lifetime. These cards feature original illustrations and scenes from the anime they belong to.

Players can build a deck of up to 50 cards, with duplicates of each card not exceeding 4. At a glance, the game acts a little similar to Pokemon, in that players place down seven cards onto a “life area”. You win by depleting all of your opponent’s cards from the Life area by attacking, the opponent. Cards can be used to battle or fill up the energy to attack monsters.

Cards also have trigger effects even if they are placed in the life area, so you can also build your deck around these effects to surprise your opponent when they think they have the upper hand.
