Idea Factory International announced it is releasing the tactical RPG latest in the Fairy Fencer F series, Fairy Fencer F Refrain Chord in Spring 2023.
The game will be available at USD$ 49.99 and USD$ 99.99 for its standard and limited editions, though the contents of the limited edition have yet to be revealed as of writing.
A direct followup to Fairy Fencer F Advent Dark Force, refrain chord follows Fang and the gang as they encounter a woman called glace who has the power to brainwash other people with her song. During their encounter, a woman named Fleur also joins their party. But what does Glace actually want?

Fairy Fencer F Refrain Chord is a sequel to Advent Dark Force, but unlike that title takes a complete departure from turn-based JRPG combat to become a tactical RPG. Use the terrain, and environmental objects to take advantage of vantage points and advantageous areas to flank enemies, and make it harder for enemies to counterattack. The game also brings back Avalanch attacks and Fairize battle mechanics.
With the introduction of Fleur, players can also take advantage of the Muse’s new mechanics to buff allies in an area, or even combine their songs together for a huge buff. But since this comes in the form of a song, enemies can also be influenced by the songs, so proper positioning will help determine how effective your songs are.
The game is also replayable with multiple story routes, with the course of the story and enemies you encounter changing based on the choices you make.
