New Playable Zipper and More Challenges to Overcome

At the tail end of the 30-minute video, the two directors revealed that a fourth update is in the works and that they are planning for an early 2023 release. Though no concrete dates were mentioned, the directors showed off that Zipper the magical feline would be added to the game as an alternate playable character alongside new difficulty settings for those who seek a more hardcore experience.

Though the announcement didn’t elaborate further on Zipper’s powers as a playable character, the clips that were shown seemed to preview what players can expect out of the talking cat that accompanied Noah in her adventures.

He appears to have a triple jump that allows him to stay airborne much longer than Noah can while being able to reposition himself during anima casts. He appears to also begin a run with a lower health pool of 75 HP, likely a tradeoff for his mobility compared to Noah.

Though we won’t be able to see Zipper transform into different colored avatar forms, he still does seem to have an Anima Burst equivalent move that allows him to continuously perform the Aether Thrust move while being invulnerable himself!

An additional VERY HARD mode is mentioned. As the game currently only has a (slightly lenient) HARD mode and a one-hit-death HELL mode in place, the newer difficulty is probably aiming to serve as an in-between for the two modes.

Alongside this, the announcement revealed that the booster effects from your airship can be controlled together with the kinds of Lilliputs and accessories you pick up in each run. The video did not go any further to explain to what extent players can alter difficulty as of now. For all we know, the feature could be used to help new players or alternatively allow further limiting of resources for more substantial challenges players can play.
