Type-Moon in collaboration with Koei Tecmo announced a new game in the Fate franchise, Fate/Samurai Remnant, which will be released worldwide for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The announcement was made during the Fate Project New Year’s Eve TV Special 2022 broadcast held on December 31, 2022.
Developed by Koei Tecmo Games’ Omega Force branch, responsible for the Warriors game franchise, and Kou Shibusawa author/supervisor of the series Nobunaga’s Ambition, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Uncharted Waters, Winning Post, Taiko Risshiden, among Fate/Samurai Remnant is an action RPG scheduled for worldwide release in 2023.
The teaser trailer presents the setting of the game, whose story takes place in Japan during the feudal period, featuring the protagonist and what seems to be his Servant, both being unknown characters with no appearance in other works of the franchise, but also a well-known heroine of Fate/Grand Order, Miyamoto Musashi, the Saber-class Servant summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru.
Koei Tecmo sets the stage for a new Holy Grail War, the Waxing Moon Ritual. Currently, there is no further information about the game, with more details to be revealed on its official Twitter account in the upcoming months.
