NGELgames announced it is shutting down its strategy-raising sim RPG, Lord of Dice later this year on February 27. The game will have been live for 5 years and 6 months when it shuts down.
In a post on the game’s official Facebook page, the developers announced that as much as the team loves the game, development and updates for the game have come to a halt when its development engine stopped receiving support and made fixing several technical issues increasingly more difficult. After talks with the development team, it has been decided it’s not worth the effort to continue working with the old engine, so the game will be terminated.
It is very important to note however the devs stated:
“Instead, we will redevelop Lord of Dice inherit its fun and identity with a new engine and introduce it to our Masters in 2023. We deeply appreciate your love for Lord of Dice and look forward to seeing you again soon.”
This suggests that the game will be returning sometime this year under a different app file and a new engine. It wasn’t explicitly stated what will happen with player data, but for now, the developers are treating this as a full shutdown of Lord of Dice, with refunds, and premium currency expiring when the game shuts down. You can apply for a refund via a google form.

Lord of Dice is a tactical mobile RPG that integrates board-game mechanics with RPG progressions. Players play against other Lords of Dice to use their powers to dive into dungeons, collecting treasures and loot.
During gameplay, you’ll be controlling your characters using cards that move them a certain number of steps along the grid dealing damage when and powerful effects when you come across an enemy. Each card has a set movement distance and effect, so building your team of six around every face of the die will give you the most amount of options when it comes to movement and combat.
