Bedman was revealed to be the third character of Guilty Gear Strive‘s second season pass during Arc World Tour 2022, one of Arc System Works’ fighting game tournaments. The character will be available as a DLC alongside the battle stage Fairy’s Forest Factory on April 6, 2023.
The first season pass introduced a number of new and returning characters to the roster of Guilty Gear Strive, including fan-favorite characters like Baiken, Jack-O, and Testament. Similarly, previous characters introduced in Season Pass 2 were Bridget, followed by Sin Kiske, with both characters being returning fighters from the franchise. This iteration of Bedman however will not feature the character that was seen previously, but instead, his sister, Delilah, will be playable.
A new trailer showcasing Bedman’s unique fighting style and design was revealed. Bedman? is an escort machine designed to protect his sister Delilah, and has a tricky fighting style utilizing automatic special moves. It also provides a glimpse into the character’s backstory and personality, highlighting his dedication to protecting his sister at all costs.
The character is known as Bedman?, question mark is included, to indicate that this is a different version of the character you have seen previously. Unlike the Guilty Gear Xrd incarnation of Bedman, Guilty Gear Strive sees the bed frame itself being the weapon, though it has the same shape-shifting abilities such as turning itself into various weapons. It can also turn itself into a wheel, firing its head as a bomb, or using its dream-like abilities to fire energy blasts.
▍About Bedman?
A bed that is still operating independently after Bedman’s death as a result of the near-death programming. It was retrieved by her sister, Delilah, after helping to stop it from going out of control. It mainly acts to protect Delilah. Although it can communicate in a simple manner, it can’t communicate in a complex way, such as by exchanging thoughtful responses or storing daily memories.
Bedman?’s younger sister also has the same peculiar constitution as her brother, and her innate ability of thinking is so high that she could only work through dreams, but she has landed in the real world through the absolutely determined reality that was activated by Bedman?’s last power.
In order to fix his body in the real world, his conventional abilities have been intentionally reduced, she is unaware of this. Her brother’s bed is always by her side, protecting her to an excessive degree.
While she possesses great power and exceptional thinking ability, she is not well-versed in general public affairs or the emotional nuances of others, and she is keenly aware of this. She is also aware that her experience in interacting with others is lacking, but she feels frustrated because she is too childish for her age and her emotions are not in tune with her.
▍Battle Stage “Fairy’s Forest Factory” Arrives Guilty Gear Strive!
The additional battle stage Fairy’s Forest Factory is a fantasy-style arena featuring a tribe of people engaged in medicine-making on top of tall trees. The pink mushrooms that grow wild in the tall trees are full of nutrients, and each area shows how they process and ship them.
