Based on the romantic comedy manga written and illustrated by Mashiro, the television anime Loving Yamada at Lv999 has revealed the key visual, main trailer, and additional cast. The anime is scheduled to premiere on April 1, 2023.
The main trailer introduces the main characters, college student Akane who is heartbroken after being cheated on, and high school student Yamada who has trouble communicating with women. As the two meet, they gradually grow attracted to each other. The playful interactions and blossoming romance hint at the lighthearted tone of the series.
The opening theme song “Gradation” (ぐらでーしょん) is performed by Kana-Boon feat. Yuuho Kitazawa, the vocalist and guitarist of girls’ band peggies. Ryujin Kiyoshi performs the ending theme song”Trick Art”.
More cast members had been announced to join the anime series. Saori Ōnishi plays Akane’s friend, Momoko Maeda; Nobuo Tobita plays Akane’s guildmate, Takezou Kamota; and Rio Tsuchiya plays Yamada’s classmate, Yukari Tsubaki.

Loving Yamada at Lv999 is originally a manga series written and illustrated by Mashiro. It began serialization on Comic Smart’s Ganma! manga website in March 2019. The manga is published digitally in English as Loving Yamada at Lv999 through the digital manga app Mangamo.
The story centers on Akane, a girl that is just about to quit the game she used to play with her ex-boyfriend when she meets Yamada in the same RPG. Yamada in real life turns out to be somewhat of a legend. The only problem is – he is ONLY interested in the game. As Akane’s feelings grow, will Yamada’s focus stay on the game?
