TBS has revealed that Trillion Game, the live-action drama adaptation based on the seinen manga written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Ryoichi Ikegami, will start broadcasting on TV in July 2023 in Japan.
The story of Trillion Game revolves around Haru and Gaku. Haru, a highly sociable but technically inept individual, forms an unlikely partnership with Gaku, a computer genius who struggles with social interactions. This dynamic duo aims to earn one trillion dollars through a groundbreaking startup venture, dubbed the Trillion Game.
Idol group Snow Man member Ren Meguro plays the protagonist Haru Tennōji, a natural charmer known for his exceptional communication skills and ability to attract people of all ages and genders. His courage and persuasive eloquence allow him to manipulate people’s emotions effectively.
Hayato Sano portrays Gaku who despite his exceptional programming skills and good nature, struggles in job interviews and was rejected by his dream company, Dragon Bank. It’s during this low point that Gaku reunites with Haru, his middle school classmate, and together they embark on the challenge to earn one trillion dollars.
In response to the drama adaptation, the manga author Riichiro Inagaki, who is also known for his work Dr. Stone, expressed, “I’m looking forward to seeing how amazing Haru and Gaku will be in the drama Trillion Game! I hope both of them will enjoy their performances as they are currently soaring high. I support both of them.”
Ren Meguro, expressing his excitement and slight anxiety over portraying a character quite different from his personality, said, “I am thrilled, but also a bit nervous about how well I can portray Haru.”
Sano, a fan of the original work himself, stated, “I want to give my all to perform so that even fans of the original work can enjoy the drama. Please look forward to it.”

Trillion Game is a Japanese manga series written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Ryōichi Ikegami. It began serialization in Shōgakukan’s seinen manga magazine Big Comic Superior on December 11, 2020.
