Guilty Gear Strive is adding the long-awaited character Asuka R. Kreutz / Asuka R# to the game, better known for a long time by fans as “That Man” in the previous entries.
Asuka is joining the game as the final character in the game’s Season Pass 2, and along with his arrival, he’ll be joining with a new stage set on the moon, a new song, as well a new additional colors DLC that adds 2 colors for each of the game’s 24 characters. A free “Appreciation color” is also coming to the game, celebrating 25 years of Guilty Gear’s history.
Arc System Works also announced during the trailer for Asuka R#, that players can look forward to even more content in Season Pass 3, meaning there will be even more characters, stages, songs, and content added to Guilty Gear Strive in the future!

▍About Asuka
Asuka is described as a highly technical character, wielding 26 types of spells each with a range of effects for different situations, giving him several options for each situation, so long as you can wrap your head around his massive novelist.
He seems to be a projectile-heavy character, fitting with his character of being very weak physically, often relying on his custom-made robots to do work for him. His spells can cover a wide variety of attack angles, from hitting low, to overheads, and at multiple ranges and speeds. He even has a teleport move that swaps the position of him and his opponent, letting him avoid projectiles, setups, and nasty situations in the corner.
▍New Stage Tir na nOg
Asuka’s also joining with a new battle stage, titled Tir na nOg, a stage that calls back to what Asuka said near the end of Guilty Gear Strive’s story, where he will move to the moon and become a radio host. Check out the stage’s multiple scenes giving us a look at how Asuka spends his time building rockets, playing on the piano, and even nurturing his own Japanese-style garden.
▍Guilty Gear Strive Additional Colors
To celebrate the game’s 25th anniversary, everyone’s also receiving a brand new color outfit, putting on tones of white, pink, and black onto the characters, and this DLC will be completely free on May 25 on the same day Asuka is released!
Additionally, those that purchased Season Pass 2 can pick up the additional colors pack, adding two new colors to each character. Players without the season pass can also pick up these colors separately as individual DLC.
