NPC Studio is taking the farming sim genre back to basic with a retro pixel-art style in Fields of Mistria, which intends to be a spiritual successor to similar games from the late ’90s and onward. Combining farming and life simulation with elements of magic and romance, the game is set to launch for unspecified consoles and PC via Steam sometime in 2024.
Pretty much starting like the games in its genre, Fields of Mistria invites players to start a brand-new life in the picturesque village of Mistria, nestled between a lush forest and a tranquil sea. Following an earthquake that causes strange magic to flow through the land, the once-thriving town is in dire need of restoration.
Players are offered a fertile yet overgrown homestead, with the promise of restoring Mistria to its former glory. Through their efforts, they will not only revitalize their farm but also contribute to the broader recovery of the village, unraveling a rich story of magic, romance, and adventure along the way.
