Starbreeze Studios and Overkill Software released the first gameplay reveal trailer for Payday 3 as part of the Xbox Games Showcase while announcing that the game isn’t that far away as it’s coming to modern consoles and PC on September 21.
The latest trailer shows off a game that seems to be combining elements from Payday: The Heist and Payday 2 with some new gameplay elements, such as being able to slide after a run, grab a hostage and hold them at gunpoint, wall-running cloakers, a melee shove attack, and more.
Payday 3 is now available for pre-order on all its platforms, with multiple editions granting unique bonus masks, the chance to play the game early, and season pass options.

Payday 3 will have multiple editions available for its players, in both digital and physical releases with a multitude of bonuses
The Standard and Day One physical edition contain the base game and the pre-order bonus called the Trifecta Loot Bag outfit set.
The Silver Edition comes with those items, but also a Dark Sterling Mask, access to the game three days early, and a season pass for the first 6 months of the game’s release which will grant players two new heists, and additional tailor and weapons packs.
The Gold edition adds the previously mentioned items but extends the season pass to the first year of the game, and also includes the Golden State Gloves, and Skull of Liberty Mask. The Collector’s edition omits the early access to the game but contains the Solidius Mask as a collector’s edition exclusive.
▍Payday 3 Gameplay
The Payday gang is back, this time they’re taking their wave of crime to the Big Apple, New York city. Here players will partake in up to 4-player heists, with the objective to steal as much money as they can from banks, stores, and other institutions and make it out by shooting their way through waves of cops, or making it out like ghosts.
In this new era of Payday time has moved forward, with access to new technology the ganga can now use their smartphones to do all manner of things including bust up cameras and call for choppers when they need it.
The game has new interaction options such as being able to drag hostages around, and more dynamic locations for placing down deployable and everyone’s favorite medic-bags.
The game has some new visual improvements and changes, most notably in that dead bodies will now ragdoll and fall immediately upon death, and certain triggers like flashbangs and getting knocked around by officers will cause th character’s view to be tilted, and the character will cover their face making it harder to fire.
Certain aspects of the game like customization will return, as with these two shots below showing how different a gun can look with new colors, and one with no colors and attachments. The trailer also briefly showed off a Cloaker running on walls and leaping off, something they haven’t been able to do since Payday: The Heist.
Other new gadgets will also be added to the game, including shock traps, and high-tech attachments that mark the enemies on your aim reticle making it easier to spot them for shots.
