Developer gumi announced that their latest tactical RPG Aster Tatariqus will also be released globally in 2023, following its previous announcement for Japan last November.
Created by Studio FgG, a subsidiary of gumi and is known to be the developer of The Alchemist Code and War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, Aster Tatariqus is produced by Jun Imaizumi, who previously produced hit titles such as Phantom of the Kill, The Alchemist Code, and Shinobi Nightmare. In addition, the music for Aster Tatariqus is composed by the renowned Yoko Shimomura.
The 3D simulation RPG is set at Aster Academy, a school ground with the goal of training mankind’s finest warriors to repel Barbaroi, a monstrous threat with the aim to destroy everything remaining to mankind and erase it from memory. The main protagonist, Noir, has to work with the “Killers”, those who turn their memories into strength and fight against the monsters.

▍Aster Tatariqus Gameplay
Aster Tatariqus is a strategic RPG with elements of roleplaying and character growth. The game takes place over several days as you explore the academy, talk to other students and learn precious skills to defeat Barbaroi.
During combat, players will be able to command characters and units to move along a grid, fighting off against enemies with a view of the battlefield.
The gameplay was shown off featured pixel graphics and fully rendered 3D graphics. Presumably, this means that depending on how you explore the story, you can engage in the game with different graphical styles or simply you can choose to play the game in a retro graphics setting or with its fully realized 3D animations.
