After several delays last year, the story-driven RPG WitchSpring R is finally getting a release window on Steam for Fall 2023. Although a console version of WitchSpring R is also in the pipeline, a specific release date has not yet been announced.
The remake of the first installment in the WitchSpring series for iOS and Android follows the story of Pieberry, a white-haired, bunny-eared witch living in a forest teeming with monsters. Driven by the desire to relive her childhood memories and sample delicious human food once again, Pieberry yearns to venture into the human world. Players can also train Pieberry, collect magical ingredients, engage in strategic battles, and uncover the unfolding plot influenced by player choices and character growth.
Publisher and developer KIWIWALKS also opened the official website for WitchSpring R and published two trailers with visuals and voice acting in Japanese. The gameplay trailer, narrated by protagonist Pieberry (voiced in Japanese by Karin Takahashi), showcases the gameplay and introduces the main characters.
Meanwhile, the worldview trailer, narrated by the fourth temple chief of the Vavelia continent, Aimhard (voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto), offers a glimpse of the prologue that plays when the game starts, giving players a glimpse into the universe of the WitchSpring series.

In WitchSpring R, players control the adventurous, white-haired, bunny-eared witch Pieberry as she encounters a diverse cast of characters, including various witches, humans, and monsters. The relationship between these characters, whether they are friends, foes, or something else, depends on the player’s choices and actions throughout the game. The game is full of hidden stories, waiting for players to uncover as they embark on the journey with Pieberry.
WitchSpring R’s gameplay offers an array of features centered on Pieberry’s growth and adventures. Players can train her in a range of skills, with their choices directly affecting her future development. Collecting and fusing various magical ingredients to prepare magical meals for Pieberry to bolster her magical abilities. Also, surplus nutrients can be “fed” to Pieberry’s staff, guiding its upgrades according to player preferences.
One of the key mechanics of WitchSpring R revolves around exploration and collecting. Magic tomes, recipes, and special items are scattered across the game world for players to discover. Players can also train different types of pets to assist them in their adventures and choose their favorite magical attributes for training, allowing them to craft custom battle strategies. At times, players can even disguise Pieberry as a human to sneak into the village.
