Hakuōki Shinkai: Manyou no Shou, the latest addition to the Hakuōki otome game series, officially launches for Nintendo Switch in Japan on August 10, 2023. The game’s downloadable version and regular edition are priced at JPY$7,489. There is also a deluxe edition priced at JPY$9,680 which includes two drama CDs and a special booklet with special episodes of the 12 characters.
Hakuōki Shinkai: Manyou no Shou is a spinoff fandisk that collects the daily episodes of the heroine and the Shinsengumi members. The story and setting are a bit different from the original Hakuōki story as Chizuru is now kept in prison by Shinsengumi for a particular reason. The game will also feature event stills that are previously available in the Otomate app.

▍Hakuōki Shinkai: Manyou no Shou Story
Bunkyu 3rd December,
Chizuru Yukimura, who visited Kyoto in search of her father, met them–”Shinsengumi”, a group that has notorious fame for killing people…
By touching upon their secret, Chizuru’s destiny changes.
Kept in prison in the Shinsengumi’s camp, she spends days worrying about his father’s safety in a bleak environment.
Though they didn’t seem to possess a threat to her for now, they keep Chizuru under surveillance without kindness.
“They are not bad people,” Chizuru thought as they sometimes chat with her and show her their smiles.
But they are definitely not her friends. Chizuru knows that they will kill her mercilessly if she has no use value.
“Your smile doesn’t guarantee anything,” she ponders over this painful time.
After three months, one day in March of the 4th year of Bunkyu, a small turning comes between Chizuru and the Shinsengumi member.
And that was the beginning of her essay…
