▍About Valkyrie Profile Lenneth
Valkyrie Profile Lenneth was originally a PlayStation Portable port of the original Valkyrie Profile game released for the PlayStation on August 29, 2000 for a western audience. The game features dungeon exploration akin to a platformer as players command Lenneth to run, jump, slide, and shoot ice crystals through areas, while also engaging in turn-based combat.
Combat is performed by assigning each character to a face button on the controller, each button performing an attack on that character. If players time their attacks, the enemy will take increased damage, and each character has varied attack timings, putting an emphasis on the player’s memory of each attack, and how to best combo them. The game has since received a mobile port for iOS and Android at a fixed price, adding quality-of-life features like autosave and quick saves, multiple control schemes, and enhanced graphics.
▍About Star Ocean The Second Story R
The Second Story R is a remake of the original Star Ocean The Second Story released on May 31, 1999, for a Western audience. Players control Claude or Nedian, two protagonists with different stories and choices the player can make as they explore the world and recruit multiple party members.
The game’s combat is performed in real-time, s players will have manual control over a character and can move, hit enemies, flank them, and perform various abilities. The other characters in the party are controlled strictly by AI, but they can be loosely commanded with a set of tactics you can make them follow, such as sticking close, or spreading out and attacking.
