The television anime adaptation of Yoshifumi Tozuka’s Undead Unluck action manga was confirmed to premiere worldwide on October 6, 2023 on Hulu worldwide. A character promotional video, unveiling more participating cast is also unveiled.
The video centers on the Union members and the ancient artifact, Apocalypse with Aoi Yūki cast as Gina, Mariya Ise as Juiz, Rikiya Koyama as Billy, Rie Kugimiya as Tatiana, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Top, Koji Yusa as Nico, with Tomokazu Sugita as Apocalypse.
An Undead Unluck world premiere event will be held at Shinjuku Piccadilly in Tokyo, Japan, on October 1, featuring an early screening of episodes one and two and a talk segment with seven cast members including Yūichi Nakamura (Andy), Moe Kahara (Fuuko Izumo), and Natsuki Hanae (Shen), delivering the latest information about the anime. Tickets for the event are set to go on sale on August 21, with a pre-sale for digital subscribers to Weekly Shonen Jump.

■ Gina – CV: Aoi Yūki
A member of the Union who was conducting UMA (Unidentified Mysterious Animals) research at Lake Baikal. She gets along well with Fuuko, whom she met at the lakeside, but she’s actually the person who captured Andy 50 years ago. Her hobbies include drawing and wearing JK (Japanese schoolgirl) fashion.
■ Juiz – CV: Mariya Ise
A long-haired woman who wears a saber and hides the upper half of her face with a mask. She has a calm and composed personality and serves as the leader of Union, taking command of the members. She is the mastermind behind Fuuko’s subjugation.
■ Billy – CV: Rikiya Koyama
A member of Union. A blind man dressed in a suit and sunglasses. He has a whimsical personality and is an elusive character. He fights using the ricochet of bullets from his gun. He takes care of Tatiana, and she is fond of him.
■ Tatiana – CV: Rie Kugimiya
To control her abilities, she stays inside a large spherical mech and operates it, attacking with mechanical arms during battle. A spirited young girl. Her favorite foods are cake bars made by Billy and sushi.

A member of Union. A tan-skinned, impatient young boy who often acts together with Isshin, fighting using leg techniques. His hobby is collecting running shoes.

A member of Union. An excellent scientist but a man who always wears a creepy smile. He’s responsible for the development of the weapons and equipment used by the Union and fights using a spherical mech that he developed himself.

The first ancient artifact discovered in this world. It takes the form of a book with a face on the cover and imposes quests on the Negators seated at the Round Table. It has a foul mouth.

A member of Union. Wears a large suit of samurai armor, so his actual appearance is unknown. He’s reticent but communicates through writing. He refers to himself as “It is I.”

A member of Union, an expressionless and silent boy. Though he appears youthful, he fights using ancient artifacts attached all over his body.
▍Undead Unluck Anime Story
Undead Unluck follows Fuuko Izumo, a young woman who has been tormented for the past 10 years by a curse that brings extreme misfortune to anyone who touches her. This curse has wreaked havoc on her surroundings, even resulting in the deaths of those close to her, including her parents. After finishing her favorite manga series, Fuuko decides she’s ready to end her existence.
While standing on a bridge contemplating her life, she is touched by a mysterious man named Andy, causing the footing beneath him to break and drop him in front of an oncoming train. Miraculously, Andy’s body regenerates, revealing that he is immortal and, like her, wishes for death.
Initially dismissive, Fuuko eventually finds common ground with Andy and they team up to pursue their shared goal. Together, they embark on an adventure to give Andy the best death possible, all while trying to navigate the complexities of their curses. But their path is fraught with danger, as a mysterious organization lurks in the shadows, aiming to exploit the duo’s bizarre abilities. The series delves into their emotional struggles, unexpected alliances, and relentless pursuit of a seemingly unattainable goal.
