Bethesda and Todd Howard took the stage during Gamescom 2023‘s presentation to talk about the game as it nears launch on September 6, during which Todd Howard revealed a special live-action trailer getting players hyped up for Starfield.

The trailer previewed the world of Starfield with real actors and went over some aspects of the game’s most impressive features such as its planet-side exploration, and technology, and most notably the trailer was accompanied by a rendition of Elton John’s 1972 song “Rocket Man”, an absolutely appropriate song if there ever was one for the game.

Starfield is the first new IP by Bethesda in 25 years, bringing open-world exploration to the next level as players can explore over 1000 planets in real-time with no loading screens, using their own customizable spaceship and engaging in real-time shooting, all while carving their own path through the stars. The game will be coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC on September 6.

About Starfield

Starfield is Bethesda’s first new universe and IP in 25 years since it began working on the Elder Scrolls and Fallout franchises, focused entirely on the themes of letting players explore the stars, onto the net frontier.

Starfield offers a next-generation role-playing experience, as players can create any character they want, and explore the universe with their own varieties of customizable spaceships, without any loading screens as they fly out into space in real-time, and land on a planet to find settlements, find civilizations, or walk into uncharted territory.

Players will be able to pilot their own ships by customizing their appearance and modifying critical systems such as weapons, shields, thrusters, acceleration and more, and you don’t have to go at it alone as you can assign crew members that offer various bonuses to your ship, which will come in handy during high-speed chases, dogfights, extended exploration, and more.
