My Hero Academia The Movie confirmed for 2018 Summer

After a few days the news leaked on 2Chan, My Hero Academia The Movie (僕のヒーローアカデミア THE MOVIE) is finally official. It is an original story coming in 2018 Summer.

The mangaka Kohei Horikoshi (堀越 耕平) has published a special illustration on the newly launched movie site to commemorate the announcement.

The production is supervised by Horikoshi. The TV anime’s director Kenji Nagasaki and scriptwriter Yosuke Kuroda have returned to join the staff at Bones studio. The movie story and trailer are yet to be available, but a few characters will surely appear in the new work according to the cast info.

Background 

My Hero Academia has been serialised on Weekly Shonen Jump since 2014. The manga follows Izuku Midoriya dubbed Deku, a plain student who works hard to be a super hero like his idol All Might. Despite having no super power at all in a world where possessing special ability is the norm, he enters the elite hero school – U.A. High School. The first anime season and the second season aired in 2016 and 2017 respectively. The third season is coming in April 2018.
