The 2018 Taipei Game Show has officially started today (25th January)! In celebration of the 4-day event, The results of the Indie Game Award was also unveiled.
The Indie Game Award celebrates hidden jewels of the Indie Gaming Scene, shedding light and raising awareness to Indie Games, allowing players to diversify in the game’s they play and enrich the gaming scene with more varieties of games from big studios as well as small!

Fist up, for the Best Audio, Songbird Symphony takes the prize with its unique gameplay and soothing tunes that elevates the overall gameplay experience.

Old Man’s Sky is a delightful game that follows an old man on a journey of self-discovery. The game features a captivating art style and fabulous story that draws players into the world of the game.
Broken Rules Interactive Media started off as a 5-man team. Over the course of eight years, they have created 4 games and between the five of them, they have eight children. The creators explained that Old Man’s Journey is a game that explores the struggle between finding a balance in career, dreams, and family. The game is made to remind players to live a life without regrets.

The Best design award goes to Qinoto created by Flip Studio. Qinoto is a game that is set in a world where everything can fold. Through folding in different angles, players will be able to solve puzzles and progress in the immersive narration of the game.
▍Best VR
The best VR game at the Indie Games Award this year is Luna, a game where players can fly around as a bird in a beautiful world. Players will have to solve a variety of puzzles to help the small bird save the lost moon.
▍Best Action
Singapore’s Gentlebros takes the Best Action award with their game, Cat Quest. Save the world as adorable cats in the 2D platformer with an addictive gameplay!
▍Best Narrative
The Best Narrative award went to Opus: Rocket of Whispers. The game’s story tugs at the hearts of players, and sets a serene atmosphere of a world devoid of life.
▍Most Innovative
The Award for most innovative game goes to Un-Destined, a VR game that revolves around the memories of a boy named Samuel.
