Live action Gintama already announced its comeback earlier in February 2018. The sequel, Gintama 2 (tentative title) (銀魂2), has just revealed new headshots of the Yorozuya trio for the first time.
According to the director Yuichi Fukuda’s twitter, filming has already begun. The arc that the coming work is based on is not yet revealed. The movie will premiere on 17th August 2018.

Gintama is adapted from the manga of the same title, which is illustrated/written by Hideaki Sorachi (空知英秋) and serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump.
In the first movie, Sakata Gintoki is portrayed by Oguri Shun, Kagura is portrayed by Hashimoto Kanna and Shimura Shinpachi is by Suda Masaki. Other actors includes Masami Nagasawa (Tae Shimura), Okada Masaki (Kotaro Katsura), Tsuyoshi Muro (Gengai Hiraga), Yūya Yagira (Toshirou Hijikata), Ryo Yoshizawa (Sougo Okita), Kankuro Nakamura (Isao Kondou), Tsuyoshi Domoto (Shinsuke Takasugi). It is adapted from the Benizakura Arc of the original manga. In this arc, Kotaro Katsura is attacked by a member of Kiheitai. The Yorozuya trio (Gintoki, Shinpachi and Kagura) then go searching for him, and the searching eventually turns into bloodshed.
