Atlus announced the release of an expanded version of role-playing game Persona 5(ペルソナ), titled Persona 5: The Royal (ペルソナ５ ザ・ロイヤル), for PlayStation 4 in Japan on 31st October. The game will also be launched worldwide in 2020.
The expanded version follows the plot of Persona 5 and the phantom gangs are spending their third semester at Shujin Academy. A new Phantom Thief named Kasumi Yoshizawa, a new confidant named Takuto Maruki who works as a counselor at Shujin Academy will also appear.
New puzzles and locations, such as aquariums and amusement parks will also be added to the game. Other new elements include selfies sent via the in-game messaging system, new events with twins Caroline and Justine, and new enemies to fight.

Kasumi Yoshizawa (CV: Sora Amamiya 雨宮天)
Yoshizawa is an accomplished rhythmic gymnast who transfers to Shujin Academy at the same time as the protagonist. Due to her accomplishments, the school has high hopes for her.
Takuto Maruki (CV: Satoshi Hino 日野聡)
Maruki is appointed as the counselor after the incident with Kamoshida due to the administration’s concerns about student welfare. The students are fond of him, as he is a good listener and gives tactful advice.
