The game’s official Twitter account posted the news yesterday (14th January) with a message from the producer Yoshinori Kitase (北瀬 佳範).
He mentioned that they made this tough decision in order to give a few extra weeks to apply final polish to the game and to deliver players the best possible experience. He also apologized to players for waiting a bit longer than expected.
This announcement comes alongside the news that Square Enix’s other big game, Marvel’s Avengers, has also been delayed, with its new release date set for September 4.
