To mark the 25 years of milestone of Nobuhiro Watsuki (和月伸宏) worldwide manga hit “Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story” (るろうに剣心─明治剣客浪漫譚─), the “Rurouni Kenshin 25th Anniversary Exhibition” reveals part of its magnificent original arts today (4th February).
The Original Arts Area is highlighted by five keywords: “Companion”, “Justice”, “Strength”, “Life” and “Happiness”. Two original arts are selected to manifest the concept of each word.
Visitors will find themselves dropping into the unique times of “Rurouni Kenshin”, as the significant scenes from the series are displayed on the shōji (障子), a traditional Japanese door, window or room divider that consists of translucent sheets on a lattice frame. A special video will be projected on the shōji, creating the thrilling action from the series.
The exhibition also introduced the popular characters from the series and their powerful sword skills.
The kamon/ emblem from ten characters, including Kenshin Himura (緋村劍心), Kaoru Kamiya (神谷薰), Yahiko Myôjin (明神弥彦), Sanosuke Sagara (相樂左之助), Saitō Hajime (齋藤一), Aoshi Shinomori (四乃森蒼紫), Makoto Shishio (志々雄真実), Sojiro Seta (瀬田 宗次郎), Enishi Yukishiro (雪代緣) and Seijûrô Hiko (比古清十郎) is also revealed.
Original goods with the kamon design will be available in the souvenir shop, Kurobeko, which is named after the restaurant “Akabeko ” from the manga. Photo-shooting is permitted in the exhibition.
“Rurouni Kenshin 25th Anniversary Exhibition” is scheduled to be held at Gallery AaMo in Tokyo Dome City from 24th April to 7th June, 2020. The ticket price for adults is JPY$1,400 (pre-sale) / JPY$1,600 (day ticket), for middle and high-school students is JPY$800 / JPY$1,000, for elementary students is JPY$500 / JPY$600.
