Recently a new dungeon crawler on early access (unreleased app) has been creating a stir on the Google Play Store. Created by ChillyRoom, Soul Knight is a pixelated dungeon crawler with a pretty retro design. Players scourers dungeon floors killing enemies in each room to find the portal room and equip your character with better weapons.
The retro graphics suits the game well especially with the bullet dodging style of the game. Although some characters can only be bought with real money, there are still a handful of characters that players can unlock through spending the points they have collected in their previous dungeon runs. The intuitive smart aiming feels very natural making it quite thrilling as you evade enemy projectiles whilst unloading all your ammo at the same time.
A plus side to Soul Knight is that players can have a free second chance just from watching an ad, developers have also made it so that players can play instantly upon opting to watch an ad for a second chance. The ad will automatically be played at the end of your second life.
For those who are already familiar with Dungeon Soul by Lamina Studio and Nuclear Throne by Vlambeer and enjoy the genre, Soul Knight is definitely worth a try.
