Compile Heart confirms that its upcoming video game “Date A Live: Ren Dystopia” (デート・ア・ライブ 蓮ディストピア) will be released on 24th September 2020 for PS4 in Japan. It is the fourth video game that is based on Koushi Tachibana’s (橘 公司) “Date A Live” light novel series.
“Date A Live Ren Dystopia” was announced back in January 2019 and was supposed to launch in Summer 2019 but got delayed. Compile Heart cited “various circumstances” as causing the delay.

The game’s story begins on a normal night, when Shido dreams of a voice calling out from within a deep darkness. When he wakes up in the morning, he finds a box decorated with serpentine patterns by his bedside. At first he thinks it is a prank, but it then drags him to a huge incident when he opens it.
The light novels’ author Tachibana is writing the original draft for the game’s story, and Tsunako is designing the characters. The game will feature the character Natsumi (CV: Ayumi Mano), who appears in the anime’s third season. New Spirits are also expected to appear in the game.
The standard edition of the game will go for JPY$7,200 plus tax for physical and $JPY6,400 plus tax for digital. A limited edition version will also be available for JPY$9,200 plus tax.
The limited-edition version of the game comes with a drama CD and booklet of a short story written by Tachibana. Players who pre-order the game will also receive a different drama CD.
