In this Japanese Monster Strike x Final Fantasy event, there are three 5★ characters for gacha, including Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII , Squall Leonhart from Final Fantasy VIII and Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII. These characters are extremely powerful compared to other characters from other crossover events, and they are a bit tricky to use. Here is how you should get the best out of them.
Squall Leonhart
Type: Balanced
Element: Fire
Impact: Bounce
Class: Ajin
Skills: Minesweeper + Null gravity wall
Bump combo: Speed other characters up
Strike shot: Uses End of Heart (also known as Lion Heart) on the enemy that Squall touches first
Values:
HP – 19168 (+3900)
Attack – 21348 (+2075), successful gauge – 28108, with mines – 42162
Speed – 327.07 (+33.15)
Tips for using Squall:
1. The SS is similar to Cloud’s. Squall attacks the first place that he touches first. It must be aimed at the weak point. Otherwise it deals little to no damage.
2. After that, he bounces around the arena to deal more damages, which is why it is best to bring along three characters that have powerful bump combos.
3. When Squall bounces around the arena during the SS, his impact actually becomes pierce. Players should be aware of the pierce-disabled monster like this below.
Cloud is BEST used for playing the events/stages below (on impossible level or above):
1. Tower of Champions (28th Floor)
Element: Wood
Gimmicks: Anti gravity barrier, mines, demon killer
Squall has over 40,000 attack points with mines and it is fast. It should be able to clear the first few battles, which MUST be cleared within a few turns, fast and efficiently.
2. Tower of Champions (35th Floor)
Element: All
Gimmicks: Anti gravity barrier, damage wall (not many), block, demon killer, magic circles (not many), speed wall
The setting of the battle is the outer space, and so all characters become extremely slow. Speed walls are there to help the characters speed up but they aren’t always there. Squall’s bump combo is speeding other characters up, which is a must for clearing this floor.
3. Hakua (Extra stage)
Element: Boss – light, other monsters – all
Gimmicks: Resurrection, poison, direct attack to deal damages, healing walls
Bump combos do not deal many damages to Hakua and other minor monsters, therefore the attack must be direct, which means it takes a fast and powerful monster like Squall to get more hits. Squall’s attributes also help clear the monsters that regenerate dead monsters at the same time (they will keep on regenerating monsters if not dead at the same time).
4. Memento Mori
Element: Wood
Gimmicks: Anti gravity barrier, mines, resurrection, damage reflection
Squall is very powerful after sweeping mines and it is fast. This helps clear the two monsters that regenerate dead monsters at the same time.
Suitable fruits:
1. “撃種の絆・加命”
His health points are not necessarily low, but it would be suitable for Squall since he is able to conquer many impossible levels.
2. “速必殺の力”
Squall’s strike shot can be triggered in 20 turns (not many compared to most monsters with powerful SS). On impossible levels where death is always near, reducing SS turns sure does help a lot.
