Taito today (27th August) announces that its upcoming smartphone game “Rakugaki Kingdom” (ラクガキ キングダム) is delayed to January 2021. The game was originally announced for winter 2019 and has been delayed to release this summer before this announcement.
“Rakugaki Kingdom” is a smartphone RPG which allows players to draw/create their own characters. Your creation will be transformed into a 3D model, which you can raise and battle. You can also upload and download the Rakugaki characters created by other players at no cost.
▍Official Announcement
The game’s producer Yoichi Shimosato(下里 陽一) explained that the decision was made to adjust the game system according to the comments collected from the 2nd Closed Beta Test. Some of the problems include:
1.) No obvious aim/target for the nurture and battle system
2.) The nurturing process is too long, but in return the rewards or enjoyment are too small
3.) The instruction is not clear / there are places where the explanation is not well understood
In order to solve the above problems, the production team decides to delay its release and aims for a new release date in January 2021.
A special live stream, which is set to air on 27th August, is also delayed. Details will be revealed on the official Youtube channel.
