Square Enix announces that the next “Final Fantasy” entry “Final Fantasy XVI” is heading to PS5 during Sony’s console event this morning. A teaser trailer is also revealed for the announcement.
The trailer teases a world in which “The legacy of the crystals has shaped our history for long enough” as part of the upcoming action RPG. Alongside its new fantasy setting, iconic figures from the series, from Chocobos to summons like Shiva, can be found.
The game is produced by Naoki Yoshida (吉田直樹) from “Final Fantasy XVI” and “Final Fantasy XIV” and directed by Hiroshi Takai (高井浩), the director of the PC version of “Last Remnant.”
The release date of “Final Fantasy XVI” is not yet revealed. The next big reveal for the game is expected to take place in 2021.
