Chinese developer and publisher Linekong confirms that the upcoming “Ys VIII: Mobile” (temporary title) will be released in 2020 during today’s livestream at the Tokyo Game Show 2020. The programme also showcased in-game visuals and the game’s movie scene.
“Ys VIII: Mobile” is the smartphone version of action RPG “Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana,” which was first released by Falcom for the PlayStation Vita in July 2016. Falcom also supervises the development of the mobile project.
The programme started with an animation video, which previews the characters and settings of the mobile game.
The live stream also revisited the history of the “Ys” franchise, which released its first game in 1987, and made a comparison of the protagonist and the heroine from all the years.
