Gameplay

Like many business simulators, players will have to balance between earning money and upgrading skills and staffs to earn more money. To do this, WorkeMon cleverly gives different WorkeMons a different type between EXP and Gold. Gold type WorkeMons will give player’s company gold over time and EXP WorkeMons will give EXP over time. Leveling up will give you points you can use to increase passive events from earning more gold and exp to an increased chance for random events like WorkeMons working overtime and on weekends.

Thoughts

Despite its somewhat cheap imitation of Pokemon impression, WorkeMon does have certain values that makes it worth trying. Unlike Pokemon, players strive to to build a successful company (by any means possible) and unlike other business simulators like AdVenture Capitalist, you’ll have to decide whether earning EXP or Gold is more important. Of course, ultimately we all know you’ve just “Gotta Catch’em All”, but the journey before you catch them all is seriously not that bad.

However, getting to the end-game can get a little too repetitive and slow after a while. The day and night cycle of the game adds a little twist to the game, but early on it makes everything a lot slower than needed which makes it a little hard to keep playing.

Starting Tips (Possible Spoilers)

Spoilers. Seriously you have been warned.

Early on in the game you may feel compelled to strike the best deal with wild WorkeMons, but in all honesty it doesn’t matter since you won’t be paying them anyway so just go ahead and catch them straight away without negotiating (100% chance to catch). Not only does this help you complete your WorkeDex, it also saves you a lot of time.

Once you unlock a few new zones, you can start thinking about keeping WorkeMons with good passive traits like +% Working in Weekends or +% Overtime. Train them up a little and the rest should be smooth sailing.
