Square Enix announces that the “SaGa Frontier Remastered” JRPG will launch on Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch and mobile on 15th April and on PC via Steam on 16th April in Japan.
The game is a remaster version of the 1997 classic JRPG “SaGa Frontier” and features updated graphics, events, cutscenes and a new protagonist called Fuse. The PS4, Switch, PC version is priced at JPY$4,800 and the mobile version is priced at JPY$4,780. The game also confirms a western release in summer 2021.
▍Overview
Players will be able to choose between the eight characters and embark on their unique journey. Each of the characters have different goals and endings. Your choices will affect how events unfold using the Free-Form Scenario System. This in-depth system will allow you to manipulate and expand a story all your own.
The game is directed and produced by Akitoshi Kawazu, who is known to create several games of “Final Fantasy” and “SaGa” franchise . Koichi Ishii was the planning chief. Kenji Ito composed the music. Tomomi Kobayashi serves as the illustrator.

To celebrate the game’s launch date confirmed, a special live stream will broadcast on 18th February, 20:00 [JPT] on Square Enix Presents, Youtube and Niconico. The live stream will feature the “SaGa” series director Akitoshi Kawazu, producer Masanori Ichikawa and “Imperial SaGa” producer Kazuma Oshu.
