Missileman is a fast-paced vertical scrolling shooter for Android and iOS. The game is available as a one-time purchase. Worth.Every.Penny!
The premise of the game is simple:
-Avoid walls
-Shoot missiles at enemies
-Collect EXP to learn new skills
Much like classic vertical scrolling games, each time you game over, you start from scratch all over again. Normally this might be frustrating, but because Missileman features a skill tree with three different branches, each attempt allows you to try getting different skills first to suit your own playstyle. To add a little more depth, the game also has three achievements that unlocks three new skills in total.
Missileman has a straight-forward control set-up that is easy to get used to. Movement is controlled like any typical mobile touchscreen joystick control and to shoot just simply tap with another finger of your choice. Around every four stages, players will face a boss. These bosses have unique attacks that can easily take you down, but they aren’t impossible to defeat, which makes the game incredibly addicting.
The only problem I have with the game is how shaky the screen can get from all the explosions. Each time you missiles hit an enemy a mini explosion occurs and causes the entire screen to shake just a little bit. Early on it doesn’t create a problem, but as enemies pile up it becomes a little too distracting.
