Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier battle royale game will launch for mobile in November during today’s Square Enix Presents at TGS2021. The game will open for pre-registration this month.
The live stream also revealed the results of the game’s closed beta test held this June. 42% of players expressed difficulty in operating and controlling the characters. In response to this, the game will support controllers when it officially launches. Balance of close combat will also be adjusted. There are also opinions requesting for a console release but there is currently no plan in regard to this.
The game will also add a Training Mode for players to do different experiments before battles. The tutorial will also be revamped to guide players who are not familiar with the battle royale game system.
A Collection system will be available for players to collect items and skins on the battlefield. Producer Shoichi Ichikawa also promised a new game mode other than the battle royale gameplay, but it won’t be a story mode. Various collaboration events are also planned after the release, and the collaboration title may be a surprise!?
In the livestream, a demo play is revealed showcasing the Team Battles and newly announced battle style, Ninja. The high mobility of Ninja allows you to jump higher than other battle styles. Ninja can use shuriken for melee combat, but techniques are needed to master it. It is also the perfect style for ambush with a skill that turns you invisible for a while. The demo play also showcases a new weapon, bomb launcher, and a new magic, Comet.
