Nintendo has released a string of new Kingdom Hearts-related information for Nintendo Switch. In a recent Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Direct, Masahiro Sakurai, director of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, revealed that Kingdom Heart’s Sora will be joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s fighter roster.
During the Direct, Masahiro revealed that Sora will be the final character to be added to the game and gave an overview on the character, showcasing the different Fighter Colors for Sora as well as the basic combos and specials. Unlike the other fighters in the game, Sora’s color variations are based on his designs from different Kingdom Hearts titles. Player one will see the original design from Kingdom Hearts, Player 2 will wear the design of Kingdom Hearts 2, Player 3 will wear the design of Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance], and Player 4 will wear the Kingdom Hearts 3 design. Beyond the original designs from each title, players will also be able to select the designs from Sora’s different forms in each game including the Valor Form and Wisdom Form from Kingdom Hearts 2, the Ultimate Form from Kingdom Hearts 3, and the Timeless Reiver variation which features dedicated facial expressions.
In addition to Sora being added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Nintendo also revealed that the Kingdom Hearts Trilogy will be available on Nintendo Switch via Cloud Streaming. The announcement revealed that the titles that will be available are Kingdom Hearts – HD1.5 + 2.5 ReMix, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts 3. The company has not revealed other details such as release dates in the initial announcement, only mentioning that more information will be revealed soon.
