▍Gameplay Overview
During battle, your units will be moving on their own. The only command you can give manually is to make them use their special skills when they accumulate enough Energy, or when you wish to utilize your Master Skill on the top left. Skill activation can be automatically handled with the AI on Auto Mode, and sped up by pressing the x2 button.
▍Tips for Battles
■ Understand the Elements
In The Thousand Noble Musketeers: Rhodoknight, units are split into five different element types: Brave, Intelligence, Technique, Chaos and Rules. Here’s a diagram on the complete elemental matchup:
■ Use Master Skill at the Right Timing
Your Master Skill can only be used three times per battle, if you use it at a bad timing, you might not be able to beat all of your enemies.
By tapping the icon on the top left of your screen, you’ll be given a choice to use one out of three master skills. These skills can have various effects: from healing your party members’ HP, to buffing ATK and DEF or even dispelling status effects.
As Each buff only lasts for a limited time, you are suggested to use it wisely. For instance, if you activate the ATK buff, it only lasts for 30 seconds and none of your party members use their Soul Gun Abilities (which is their strongest attack), the buff will end, and your use will come to a waste.
Also, even though buffs can stack, their timers are all counted individually. (i.e. if you use the ATK buff skill three times in 5-second intervals for example, the buff will wear out as time passes until dissipating completely.)
As you progress through the main story, you can unlock new Master Skill sets. By changing the sets via the menu below, you can change which skills you can activate. Although sets may vary, they will almost always include a buffing skill and a healing skill.
■ Teamwork Makes Dreamwork
Before going into a battle, check your team’s combat power first! If the number is red, it means your team’s power is below the recommended, and you might experience difficulties clearing the quest. If the number is blue, however, you meet the required power, and can expect to clear the quest easily.
■ Link Skill
Building your party with specific pair of characters can activate the Link Skill. There are many different kinds of Link skills, for example, make the skill gauge increase faster or increase defense. Characters with special relationship/ comes from the same country tends to have Link Skill. Try different combinations and build the strongest party!
■ Develop Strategies with Formation
Develop strategies with the formation of your musketeers. Guns in the front row will take damage first, so you are suggested to put musketeers with higher defense in this position. Depending on the formation, the status of your musketeers in a specific position will be corrected. More formation will be unlocked when you proceed with the main story.
