Overlap Bunko announced that Doufu Mayoi and Kurogin’s Black Summoner (Kuro no Shōkanshi) light novel series is getting a TV anime adaptation by Satelight in 2022.
It also revealed the anime’s main cast, staff and a teaser visual with the protagonist Kelvin under the tagline “Come at me with all your strength. There’s no meaning to it otherwise.”

■ Kelvin – CV: Kouki Uchiyama
A young man, who is reincarnated into another world with powerful skills in exchange for his memories of his previous life. Armed with his powerful skills which allow him to grow his status tremendously, and his “summoner” skills, which allow him to use the monsters under his command, he throws himself into battle against powerful enemies.
He is a genuine battle fanatic, and if there is an enemy that is stronger than him, he will take the initiative to start a battle. The profession of “Summoner” is a rare one, and the government wants to get their hands on it, so there are many strings attached.
■ Efil – CV: Manaka Iwami
A blond-haired, green-eyed half-elf. She was bought by Kelvin when she was held as a slave in the city. Due to a curse that causes her to burn anything she touches, she has been a slave for as long as she can remember, and has never seen her true parents.
Perhaps because she has never had much contact with people, she feels an extraordinary sense of duty toward Kelvin, the first person to establish a relationship with her.
■ Melfina – CV: Reina Ueda
A reincarnated god who appeared in front of Kelvin when he was reincarnated into another world. She acts like a guide who teaches Kelvin how to read his status, his profession, and his skills.
Because she is a god, she is technically under Kelvin’s control, but summoning her requires a considerable amount of MP, and Kelvin is still unable to see her true form, as a result.
