Hiromu Arakawa’s Fullmetal Alchemist manga series kicks off its 20th anniversary project with a special site and a new visual of Scar, who stared at you with his signature red eyes and the transmutation circle on his right arm.
Along with the visual, there’s a dialogue quoting that “if creators exist in you guys, there’s also existence of devastators.” There’s also a countdown page “IN 13 DAYS” hinting the possibility of more updates coming on March 2.
▍About Fullmetal Alchemist
Starting from 2001, Fullmetal Alchemist was first serialized in the Monthly Shonen Gangan in 2001 and the manga series completed in 2010. To commemorate for the 20th anniversary, many activities were held, including an exhibition. A mobile game, titled Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile is also set to release in summer 2022.
The story of Fullmetal Alchemist starts when Edward and his brother Alphonse wanted to bring their dead mother back to life by using alchemy. The process of resurrecting their mother failed and it led to the result that Edward lost his right arm and left leg, Alphonse even lost his physical body that he existed only in soul form inside a steel armor suit. Through their journey, readers can reflect on the meaning of their life, it’s not just about longevity but also the memories you share with your friends, families and significant others that really make your life important.
