One Piece Film Red, the franchise’s latest anime film, revealed the character designs illustrated by the manga’s creator Eiichiro Oda. It was described as the “battle suit” for the Straw Hat Crew.
Following the “festival costume” that was unveiled at Jump Festa 2022, the new character designs showcase the second costume featured in the movie. The theme of the battle suit is “Rock x Pirates”, and all the members of the Straw Hat Pirates are dressed in leather with studs and chains.
Luffy has a rock style with pirated jackets and hats studded with studs. Zoro is dressed like a Western knight with a jacket. In addition, Frankie wore a gas mask, and Jinbe, who joins the One Piece movie for the first time, will appear wearing a coat with spikes.
As the fourth instalment of the “ONE PIECE FILM” series, One Piece Film Red will open in Japan on August 6, 2022. Oda himself is serving as executive producer and Code Geass creator Goro Taniguchi will direct the film. One Piece Film Gold script writer Tsutomu Kuroiwa will be providing the script.
