Publisher Compile Heart and developer Sting announced that Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord, a sequel to the 2013’s Fairy Fencer F fantasy RPG, will release on September 15 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Switch at JPY$ 8,580. The game will also have a limited edition priced at JPY$10,780. The game will launch in Japan and It is unknown whether it will be localized or not.
In the Fairy Fencer F series, players will play as Fang and his gang as they face off against a new, evil organization, meet new fairies and fencers, and collect the furies scattered across the world. The game features a turn-based RPG battle system that allows you to transform during battle and defeat enemies quickly.

Long ago, people were given knowledge by a goddess and civilization flourished.
They built towers that reached the heavens and perfected weapons that could pierce even the gods.
However, the civilization was soon extinguished due to a conflict between an evil god and a goddess. Time has passed since then, to the present day. Fang, a young man who has become a “Fencer,” travels with his friends in search of Fury in order to revive the Goddess.
One day, he meets a girl who saves people with her songs and another girl who brainwashes people with her songs. Fang’s destiny begins to unfold with the mysterious power of these girls, who call themselves the “Divas”.

Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord will feature the cast from the previous game, as well as new characters:
■ Fang – CV: Ryōta Ōsaka
A lazy Fencer who is always thinking about eating and slacking off.
He is helping his amnesiac partner regain her memory by collecting the Fury spirits. He has a foul-mouthed and short-tempered personality, but his blunt words have the power to bring people together.
■ Arin – CV: Rumi Ōkubo
Fang’s partner. Although she has amnesia, she is helping Fang to collect Furies for the sole purpose of “reviving the goddess”, according to her. They often argue and compete over trivial matters.
■ Tiara – CV: Kaori Ishihara
A polite, high-spirited young fencer with a high-spirited personality. She tends to feel pleasure when she is abused, and tends to lose herself in the abuse. She is eager to revive the goddess, and her past, which she is reluctant to talk about, seems to be involved in her desire.

In this game sequel, a new grid system where you can move your characters will be implemented.
