Dragon’s Dogma 2 Announced at 10th Year Digital Celebration

0

Dragon’s Dogma was released back on May 22, 2010, a little over 10 years ago. Capcom decided to celebrate the game’s 10-year anniversary with a digital celebration where at the tail end of it, Hideaki Itsuno announced that Dragon’s Dogma 2 was in development! The game’s logo was unveiled, and the game will be made with the RE Engine.

The 10-year digital celebration went into the early concept of Dragon’s Dogma, from its inception as a pen and paper RPG to its core design as a “BBS RPG” where players exchanged party members as an offline game, and until its final creation after Itsuno finished working on Devil May Cry 4. The game currently has no confirmed release window.

About Dragon’s Dogma

Dragon’s Dogma is an intense action-adventure RPG. After being cursed by the Great Dragon Grigori, the player travels to the land of Gransys to gain power, and find out the whereabouts of the Dragon Grigori. Along the way, players will battle several fantasy monsters from Chimeras, Cyclops, Cockatrices, and can even climb on top of monsters to attack their weak points like in Shadow of the Colossus.

Players battle monsters in real-time combat, with their custom companion, a Pawn, and can also borrow Pawns from other players! The game boasts a class system centered around the warrior, rogue, and mage classes, and can upgrade and even combine these 3 classes to create powerful hybrid classes, with unique weapons and skills at their disposal.

The game series has also been adapted into an anime series on Netflix.
