CG animation studio Orange has officially announced its latest project, Trigun Stampede, which is set for release in 2023. A preview image of the anime was released on the anime’s official website. The anime will be streamed on Crunchy Roll with more details on the “Original New Animation” to be revealed at Anime Expo 2022.
Trigun Stampede comes as the first new anime series for Trigun after its original anime run 25 years ago. The anime will be produced by Studio Orange and will be made with an all-new staff and cast.
Trigun is a manga series written and illustrated by Yasuhiro Nightow, who also later worked on games like Gungrave, and the manga Blood Blockade Battlefront (Kekkai Sensen). The series is set on the fictional planet called No Man’s Land, and follows the story of Vash the Stampede, an inhumanly powerful, yet immensely kind young man who is constantly sought after for his 60 billion dollar bounty. Despite seemingly having done nothing wrong, his past is filled with tragedy, bloodshed, and murder. Despite that he lives on and travels the world, saving people without violence, inspired by the words of his beloved mother to never harm a soul again.
The series was adapted into a 26-episode anime tv-series and had a movie adaptation in 2010 called Trigun: Badlands Rumble
