The sci-fi action manga by Tsuyoshi Takaki, Heart Gear is returning after it’s over two year-long hiatus! The manga’s latest chapter was released in May 2020 after the author cited they would be taking a break due to their health. Heart Gear is a manga series written by Tsuyoshi Takaki, creator of Black Torch, and published on Shonen Jump’s online manga platform, Shonen Jump + and its overseas version, Manga Plus.
Heart Gear follows the human girl Roue, and her Gear, Zett as they live in a post-apocalyptic world ruined after the third World War. One day Roue encounters another Gear called Chrome, and the three decide to live together. When Roue discovers that Chrome lacks a “base program”, which decides a drone’s purpose, the three set out on a journey to discover Chrome’s purpose, and what it would mean for the world.
Heart Gear has been compiled into three tankobon volumes, with the fourth volume coming on August 4, 2022.
