Oshi no Ko released a special illustration celebrating the confirmation of the manga’s anime adaptation on the Jump Plus website. The new visual features young actor Kana Arima, a pivotal character in the series. Unfortunately, the anime hasn’t been updated with any more news, though it was confirmed recently in the latest special chapter, that Oshi no Ko takes place in the same universe as Aka Akasaka’s Kagura-Sama: Love is War!
The manga’s 9th volume releases on October 19, and returns on September 1 on Jump Plus. The manga is available in English on Mangaplus, where it is currently being updated, and catching up to the Japanese release.
▍Oshi no Ko Story
The story follows Goro, a young doctor who is a huge fan of his favorite idol Ai Hoshino. After suddenly being told to handle the birth of his favorite idol’s children, he is murdered by a crazed fan and is then reborn as one of the children. The story follows him, and his sister who was a previous patient of his, as they learn the truth about their birth, and follow in the footsteps of their beloved mother, and Oshi (Favorite Girl).
Oshi No Ko is a manga written by Aka Akasaka, known also for being the author and artist of Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War, Oshi No Ko is illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, and the series has been in publication since 2020 and was recently made available on Jump +! Volume 8 of the manga was released on June 17, 2022, in Japan, and the manga has sold over 3 million copies! Oshi No Ko also won first place at the Next Manga Awards in the print category in 2021.
