Moonrise Anime Reveals Teaser PV, Visual by Hiromu Arakawa, and 2024 Debut

At the Netflix Tudum Japan live stream event, Netflix revealed a trailer for Wit Studio and Tow Ubukata’s upcoming Moonrise anime project. The trailer announced the 2024 release window, as well as the series’ staff and a new key visual.

Fullmetal Alchemist manga creator Hiromu Arakawa is credited as the original character designer of the series, and Ayumi Yamada is adapting those designs for animation. Ryo Kawasaki is composing the music, and Wit Studio (the studio perhaps known for formerly animating the three seasons of Attack on Titan) will be handling the animation production. In fact, Masashi Koizuka (the director of both Season 2 and Season 3 of Attack on Titan) is directing the anime.

Moonrise will portray the lives of two men, Jack and Al, as they confront various hardships in the vast world of outer space. All action and scenery in the unexplored parts of the Moon will be illustrated using an innovative type of animation unlike any seen before, according to the staff.
