San-X’s popular character Rilakkuma (リラックマ) is getting an anime series for the first time. As announced by Netflix, San-X and Dwarf Studio today (21st June), the series will air on Netflix worldwide.
A total of 13 episodes will be available in 190 countries and each episode is 11 minute long. The companies hinted that the series is going to be made with stop motion elements.
Started as a merchandise franchise by San-X, Rilakkuma is a character that is said to be a toy bear and lazy. His cute appearance has made him popular among girls and among merchandise producers.
The release date is yet to be unveiled. More details will be announced soon.
